Edition 12 · Wednesday Midweek Reset

A LinkedIn Profile That Recruits You.

Stop chasing roles. Build a profile recruiters reach out about, without posting every week.

Last Week in Edition 11

Last week we worked behavioral delivery. This week, we rewind to the asset that decides whether strong roles find you at all: your LinkedIn profile. Not your posting cadence. Not your content strategy. The profile itself, rebuilt so recruiters searching for people like you actually surface you and reach out.

You are probably not going to get discovered because of a brilliant post. Most people are not.

You are going to get discovered because a recruiter searched for a specific keyword combination, and your profile was one of the ten LinkedIn surfaced. At that moment, they spent roughly 12 seconds scanning your profile to decide whether to message you. What was visible in those 12 seconds is the entire game.

The Midweek Check-In

Does your headline include the exact job titles you would accept, not the title you currently hold? If not, recruiters searching for your next role will not find you.

Does your About section open with a sentence that makes a recruiter stop scrolling? Most About sections open with a resume paragraph. Recruiters do not read those.

Does your experience section lead with outcomes, not responsibilities? Responsibilities blend together. Outcomes are what recruiters screenshot and send to a hiring manager.

The Shift That Changes Everything

LinkedIn is not a social network for job seekers. It is a search engine for recruiters. Every time you optimize your profile, you are optimizing for a search algorithm and for 12 seconds of human scanning. Both matter. Both are learnable.

The Framework: Three Surfaces That Decide Everything

01The Headline (220 characters)

Not your current title. The titles you are hunting for. Use commas or vertical bars to list 2-3 alternate titles, then a brief positioning statement, then 1-2 keyword categories. "Senior Operations Leader | VP Operations, Director Operations, Head of Operations | Scaling healthcare services teams from 50 to 500 | DRG + revenue cycle" is a headline. "Operations Manager at [Company]" is not.

02The About (First 3 Lines)

The first three lines show before the "see more" fold. Make them the strongest three sentences you have. Lead with a specific accomplishment or the kind of work you want to do next. Skip the resume language. Write like a human talking to another human, with numbers where you have them.

03The Experience Section (Top Role)

Lead every current-role bullet with a verb and end with a number. "Built the DRG audit function from scratch, scaling from 2 FTEs to 14 and driving $4.2M in annualized recovery." Not "Responsible for managing the DRG audit team." Every bullet. Verb in. Number out.

Three Profile Mistakes That Keep Recruiters Scrolling Past

  • Headline equals current title. Recruiters searching for the level above you will never see you.
  • About section written in third person. Signals dated, rigid, corporate. First person always wins on LinkedIn.
  • Experience bullets that are job descriptions. Responsibilities do not recruit. Outcomes do.

Your Strategy Through Friday

Run a full profile audit

Open the LinkedIn Audit Checklist below. Twelve items. Work through in order. Total time: 45 minutes for meaningful, measurable improvements.

If you are rewriting from scratch

Open the Recruiter-Ready Profile Template. Fill in each section. It produces a complete profile draft you can paste into LinkedIn in under an hour.

If you do not post and are worried you should

You do not have to post. You have to be findable and scannable. That is 90% of the battle. Posting is the last 10%, and it is not required.

The Midweek Mindset

LinkedIn is a search engine first, a social network second. Optimize for the search. Optimize for the 12-second scan.

Headline with target titles. About with a hook. Experience bullets with verbs and numbers. That is the profile that recruits you.
